The introductory physics students lab is an important part of physics education. Unfortunately students are often not well prepared for the experiments, whether they are not having the time or they are not motivated for a good preparation. The latter is often true in case of physics minor students.
The use of multimedia for the preparation
in physics students lab can put things right:
The integrated use of multimedia can make preparation of physics students lab more efficient and guaranteed. This way students can have more time for the real experiment.
At the University of Kaiserslautern we are integrating interactive and multimedia elements originally developed at the FiPS project into a web based preparation of the physics students lab. At this time one experiment has been prepared this way. The rest of the physics students lab experiments will follow soon.
